Casual games may be the route for Nintendo. In a press briefing today, the game company giant announced plans to develop a new home console, but specified that improvements will focus more on revolutionizing “a next-generation way of playing games” than next-generation technology. Still under wraps, the consoled is code-named “Revolution.” Nintendo president Satoru Iwata discussed the long-term strategy for success. Nintendo executives predict that the tactic will produce a significant increase in earnings by 2007.
