Nintendo Of America President Retires, Replaced By Pokemon USA Exec

Minoru Arakawa, the president of Nintendo of America Inc. since the game company subsidiary was formed in 1980, is retiring and will be replaced by the head of Pokemon U.S.A.
Arakawa, 55, announced his retirement in a statement issued late Monday. Nintendo of Japan said he would be succeeded by Tatsumi Kimishima, president of Pokemon U.S.A. and chief financial officer of the Pokemon Co. A native of Japan, Kimishima spent more than 25 years in management positions with Sanwa Bank, including nearly seven years in New York and California. Arakawa is the son-in-law of Hiroshi Yamauchi, president of Nintendo Co. Ltd.
