Nintendo has announced initial details regarding its E3 2006 press conference plans, indicating in an email to media outlets that a May 2006 press briefing would include "details about Nintendo's upcoming games and hardware, including our next home console, code-named Revolution."
Although it's possible that Nintendo may reveal further information about the console at CES in January 2006, or at Game Developers Conference in March 2006, it's likely that key consumer-oriented information about the Revolution will be revealed at this press briefing, to take place at 9:30am PST on May 9, 2006 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California.
Naturally, this date is just ahead of the E3 Expo itself, which takes place from May 10-12 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and at which Nintendo is sure to have a major presence, alongside the other major hardware manufacturers.
2005's pre-E3 Nintendo press conference revealed many initial details
about the Revolution, including pictures of the slimline console, which is approximately the size of three standard DVD cases stacked together, and the fact that the console also will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
