Officials from Nintendo have been attempting to deny that the company has any intention of acquiring Japanese publisher and toy manufacturer Bandai. The company purchased an additional 2.7% of Bandai’s shares at the end of September, when Bandai split its stock – making it now one of the top ten shareholders.
Despite the denials the Japanese press is rife with rumors that an acquisition move is being planned - a move that would give Nintendo direct and exclusive access to properties such as Gundam, Power Rangers, Digimon and Hello Kitty.
