Nexon's Shattered Galaxy Sweeps Last Two Indie Game Festival Awards

It was a big evening for Nexon, the developer of Shattered Galaxy, as the final two awards presented by the Independent Games Festival were handed out last night.
The two prizes, the Audience Award and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize, were announced at the San Jose Civic Auditorium by IGF chairman Alex Dunne and Game Developer magazine editor-in-chief Mark DeLoura. Ten indie titles were competing for the remaining two awards; four "craft" category awards had been presented on Thursday night. There was agreement between the show audience, whose votes determined the winner of the Audience Award, and the IGF jury, which determined the recipient of the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Both went to Shattered Galaxy, a massively multiplayer RTS, developed by Sunnyvale, CA and Seoul, South Korea-based Nexon. The company walked away with $1000 for the Audience Award, and $10,000 and an Intel Pentium 4 workstation for winning the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Shattered Galaxy had already taken the Best Game Design and the Technical Excellence awards on Thursday night. The other two awards, Best Audio and Best Visual Art, were presented to Space Time Foam's Chase Ace 2 and Silver Creek Entertainment's Hardwood Spades, respectively.
