publisher Nexon America has selected PlaySpan's Monetization-As-A-Service platform and UltimatePay service for managing sales of NX (Nexon Cash), the virtual currency used in all of its free-to-play titles.
PlaySpan's MaaS platform is designed to help publishers and developers generate new revenue streams and grow their average revenue per user (ARPU). With this partnership, Playspan will not only provide additional NX purchasing options but also credit card processing and fraud risk management services.
The firm's UltimatePay product offers more than 90 global payment methods including mobile, credit, PayPal, cash, and its Ultimate Game Card in 180 countries. PlaySpan claims the service enables players to make in-game purchases easily and quickly.
Nexon America currently claims over 12 million players across online titles like MapleStory, Combat Arms, Dungeon Fighter Online, Mabinogi
, and others. Next year, the publisher plans to launch BlockParty, a free social multiplayer game portal.
"Our selection of PlaySpan’s platform will allow us to deliver greater payment alternatives to our players, ensuring that they will always have access to premium entertainment content," says Nexon America CEO Daniel Kim.
He adds, "This is yet another in a series of partnerships we are working on to provide our players with a safe and secure platform so they can focus on what really matters – having fun."
