Today's regularly updated newsbriefs include news of Twelve Interactive becoming an official PS3 developer, a new Namco puzzler for North America, and Omni Interactive Audio's contributions to a number of gaming's recent hot properties.
- Representatives from Italy based Twelve Interactive (Crash Dummy
) announced that company is now an officially licensed developer for the PlayStation 3. "Our next project, (an undisclosed sci-fi action game for next-gen consoles), will benefit from the tremendous power of the machine, presenting us with limitless creativity/ideas," commented Giuseppe Crugliano, managing director and founder of Twelve Interactive. "We are also confident about the great Sony support offered, that already has helped our company to improve our current title, Crash Dummy Vs The Evil D-Troit
on PSP and PS2." Twelve Interactive is also working on the previously announced futuristic action game Starblaze – Ultimate Battle
, which is in development for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, and Windows Vista.
- Namco Bandai officials have announced the North American release of their puzzle game for the Nintendo DS called Trioncube
, expected in February 2007. Developed by the same team behind the Mr. Driller
has players attempting to rescue a princess from Hell Metal by creating a Trioncube – a series of 3x3 blocks, which start a chain reaction that refuels the player's space ship. The game features four gameplay modes that each have players attmepting to create the ultimate 3x3 chain and collect coins so they can purchase various unique Effects and Arts - like sushi rolls, dogs and tambourines jumping out of the Trioncube.
- Officials from Omni Interactive Audio have announced that the company has contributed to three recently released titles. For NCsoft's MMOG Guild Wars Nightfall
, Omni noted that it was responsible for all of the game's sound effects, including over 100 creatures and over 300 spells. In addition, the company also integrated all of the sound assets using ArenaNet’s proprietary tools and scripts. Omni was also responsible for the sound effects for Sega's recently shipped PSP title Sonic Rivals
. Finally, for the recent Xbox Live Arcade release Small Arms
, Omni provided all of the game's sounds, from effects to music. In addition, the company is also working with San Francisco based Perpetual Entertainment to add sound effected and an orchestrated sound track to the upcoming MMOG Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising
. The firm also adds that there are some additional unannounced titles in the pipeline as well.
