Several Internet sites are reporting that Yoshiharu Suzuki has been appointed as head of Sega’s Wow arcade development unit. Suzuki currently works in Sammy’s arcade division and pioneered the company’s budget AtomisWave arcade platform.
If the appointment is true then it would seem to confirm suggestions that Sammy, who recently bought a majority stake in Sega, have successfully installed the necessary management to steer Sega away from home console and high-price arcade manufacture and towards the low-cost, low-risk AtomisWave platform.
