Flash-based middleware provider Scaleform announced Wednesday the release of Scaleform GFx 3.2, which introduces support for stereoscopic 3D interfaces and other features. Scaleform calls GFx 3.2's 3D interface feature "3Di," and it will allow artists to create 3D menus, heads up displays and in-game interfaces, in addition to stereoscopic 3D menus. Scaleform said that with the new 3Di Flash features "developers can craft animated 3D interfaces for video games by tilting and tweening any Flash element in 3D space." Stereoscopic 3D support will allow for displays that give the appearance that they're floating. Version 3.2 will also include a new Flash profiling tool for programmers and artists called AMP, as well as new ready-to-use interface kits. AMP "provides a comprehensive view of the CPU usage, rendering stats and memory allocation," Scaleform said, allowing programmers to tune performance.
