Although Activision’s
Transformers movie tie-in remains at the number one spot in the UK for the second week, it is once again one of only two games in the top ten not exclusive to either the DS or Wii, amidst a total of seven first party Nintendo titles.
With no sales figures available for any of the games, it is impossible to tell whether the combined sales of
Pokemon Diamond and
Pearl would have ousted
Transformers: The Game from the number one spot, although both versions saw sales fall by 40 percent. As in the rest of the world,
Pokemon Pearl has proven by far the least popular of the two games, despite the difference in content between the two amounting to less than a dozen exclusive pokemon each.
Both
Wii Play at number three and
Mario Party 8 at number five have risen up the chart this week, although
Big Brain Academy for Wii has fall as far as number sixteen. However,
New Super Mario Bros. has reappeared in the top ten, at number ten, and is the second title after
Brain Training (aka
Brain Age) to have been released more than a year ago.
Although it was released last week, Ubisoft movie tie-in
Surf’s Up makes its first appearance in the top forty at number eleven and will likely rise further when the movie is released in the UK. The only genuine new entry of the week is the much delayed
Trauma Center: Second Opinion - published in Europe by Nintendo themselves - which debuts at number seventeen on the back of strong point of sale and television advertising.
