Prior to joining the ESRB, Vance was executive vice president & general manager, Admissions Services for The Princeton Review. Prior to that, she served as president and CEO of HalfthePlanet.com, an online resource network for people with disabilities. Vance also spent 18 years at Disney/ABC, working in the ABC Internet Group, CD-ROM publishing, educational film and video distribution, direct response videocassette marketing, in-flight entertainment, home video and cable TV. Vance takes over for Dr. Arthur Pober, who led the ESRB from its inception and helped design the ratings system used today. He resigned last Spring to pursue academic interests, but still serves as President Emeritus of the ESRB. The IDSA established the ESRB nine years ago to generate independent ratings on the age appropriateness and content for games.
