Take-Two's 2K Play label has announced that its flagship
Carnival Games has shipped over one million units worldwide, and based on its success, the company will add two new titles to the franchise.
The new titles include
Carnival Games for Nintendo DS, scheduled to ship in Summer 2008, and
Carnival Games: Mini-Golf, a new Wii exclusive slated for a fall 2008 debut.
The DS
Carnival Games adds gameplay specific to the DS's touch screen and microphone controls. In addition to the mini-games Alley Ball, Frog Leap and Dunk Tank, the DS title adds new carnival games including RC Raceway and Clown Hammer.
Carnival Games: Mini-Golf is set against theme park-style mini golf courses, with golfing that uses the Wii remote. It also features support for up to four players.
2k Play's VP of development Steve Lux commented, “The consumer response to
Carnival Games has been extraordinary. The game resonates with every demographic and the feedback we have received from moms, dads, kids and grandparents shows
Carnival Games as one of the drivers of family game time. Our new games build on the strength of the first title and will promote this growing trend.”
