As former executive VP of Worldwide Publishing Kelly Flock steps down from his position at THQ, the publisher has announced two appointments to fill his place -- new North and South America VP Scott Guthrie, and international VP Ian Curran.
Flock is said to be leaving the company for personal reasons, but will remain in a consulting role. Company president and CEO Brian Farrell said, "Over his two-year tenure with the company, Kelly has helped build a world class publishing organization deep with talent and expertise. We appreciate his contributions to the business."
Former senior vice president Scott Guthrie will take over executive vice president duties for the Americas, overseeing sales, distribution and marketing, as well as global brand management.
Guthrie is an 18 year sales and marketing veteran with former roles at companies such as Disney, PepsiCo and Colgate-Palmolive.
Former international senior VP Ian Curran will take on his new role as executive vice president for to oversee sales, distribution and marketing for all countries outside of the Americas.
Curran has overseen a doubling in international sales and the expansion of the publisher's operations in 15 locations outside of the Americas, the company says. Curran has some 15 years of publishing experience with media companies such as Time Warner, it adds.
Said Farrell, “Ian and Scott have a combined thirty years of experience in publishing, including sales and marketing positions at leading entertainment and consumer products companies. Under their leadership, THQ has significantly grown sales and market share in both North America and Europe.”
