nDreams, the studio founded by former Eidos creative director Patrick O’Luanaigh, has announced the first details of Venus Redemption, an episodic casual game targeted specifically for female gamers aged 30 and up. nDreams says the title is being written by award-winning author Kate Pullinger and BAFTA nominated writer Gordon Rennie, and scored by Wipeout musician Tim Wright. The game promises "powerful storylines, deep characters, emotion-based interactive conversations and exciting adventure gameplay," and, in keeping with casual game norms, will be "extremely easy to play, requiring only the ability to move and left-click a mouse," and "playable in short bursts if you don’t have much time." Few other details have yet been announced for the game, which nDreams will be creating under its Storygamer imprint, dedicated to casual games. nDreams, founded in August of last year, has also established the comedy-based division Parody Games, which the developer says will be "the 'Weird Al Yankovic' of gaming." Said CEO O’Luanaigh of the game, “We can’t wait to present Venus Redemption to the world. After many months of development and exhaustive gameplay focus testing, we believe that it will prove a breath of fresh air for the casual game sector, and in particular for female casual gamers. With the technology behind Venus Redemption, we can now rapidly develop immersive and visually impressive story-based casual games that will run on almost any PC.”
