Numerical Design Ltd. (NDL) released a new version of NetImmerse, the company's game engine and development toolkit. NetImmerse 4.1 includes new features such as performance profiling and memory tracking, batch rendering, improved integration with the Havok physics run-time engine, and added functionality for plug-ins and keyframe manager software. There are also a number of performance optimizations that have given significant speed boosts to across all supported platforms, as tested by NDL on real-world games. Other new features and improvements:
Performance profiling and memory tracking that allow developers to analyze performance on a per-object basis.
A new batch rendering mode that speeds processing for objects that have the same render and dynamic-effect states.
A selective update mode that improves performance by updating only objects that need to be changed from one scene to another.
Improved integration with the Havok physics engine, including export and preview within NDL’s MAXImmerse plug-in.
New DX8 renderer capabilities, including code changes for increased performance.
