N-Space Reduces Staff by 25 Percent, Cites 'Momentary Reduced Demand'

Orlando-based Nintendo DS development specialist N-Space is letting 25% of current staff go due to delays on upcoming projects, but CEO Dan O'Leary says great things are still to come.
Orlando-based handheld and console developer n-Space has confirmed to gaming blog Kotaku that it has cut 25 percent of its staff, which was roughly 100 employees before the cuts were announced. n-Space CEO Dan O'Leary says the cuts were made because of the delays of unannounced projects, as well as the wrap-ups of several titles at the same time. He further elaborated: "A lot of good people got caught up in bad timing, despite unbelievable results from my entire team. But we've got lots of great things ahead." Six titles are on the slate from n-Space in 2010, such as the Nintendo DS versions of James Bond 007: Blood Stone, Tron: Evolution DS, and the already-released Toy Story 3. The company is known for its DS releases of major already-released or upcoming franchise titles from Activision such as GoldenEye 007, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Call of Duty: Black Ops. The Florida firm has also developed the Wii versions of Tron Evolution and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, as well as the Nintendo-published 2005 Gamecube title Geist.
