Java game distributor Selatra have announced the availability of a new catalogue of Flash Lite titles. The company specifically cited the casual, "pick up and play" nature of Flash titles as a good compliment to the company's more complex Java titles.
The company's first two announced Flash Lite titles are traditional board game
Reversi (otherwise known as
Othello, and space shooter
Meteors. Seltra has partnered with Flash developer JRVisuals for their Flash Lite line-up, with more titles due in early 2007.
Founded in 2002, Selatra distributes its primarily Java based branded and original creations across 50 countries. NY based JRVisuals specializes in Flash game development, websites, advergames and interactive advertising, and has worked with such clients as Comedy Central, IBM, Kellogg's and Mattel.
“The games are aimed at the non core gamer, simple to play, yet hard to put away,” Selatra CEO Sean Cronin said in a statement.
He continued, “We believe one thumb and casual gaming will become increasingly popular with consumers who want to take their PC console experience to the mobile and play the flash games they love on the go. We see market growing along non-traditional gamer lines and are extending this genre in our global catalogue.”
