Digital Orchid, developer of wireless applications, has acquired Blue Tech, a European mobile gaming developer. The details of the deal remain undisclosed. The acquisition is intended to provide Digital Orchid with advanced Java and gaming application technology as well as an extensive line of games for carrier distribution.
Blue Tech was founded in Spain in 2004 by Javier Gracia Alvarez-Ossorio. Its parent company, Kato Studios, has produced more than 40 leading European mobile games including Ibiza, Grand Prix 2006, 7 Days of Terror,
While helping to cement the company's presence in Europe, the acquisition also enhances Digital Orchid's growth in the Hispanic and Latin America wireless markets.
