Organizers say that the second annual MIT Sloan Business and Gaming Conference has added speakers -- including 38 Studios' Curt Schilling and BioWare Austin's Gordon Walton -- for the April 16th Boston event. This year's event, themed "Competing on Analytics," will kick off April 16 at the Microsoft New England Research & Development Center in Cambridge, MA, and it aims to convene industry professionals, academics and MBA students to discuss the business side of the game industry. "Our goal is to pull back the curtain on creative ways innovators are using analysis to raise funds, shorten development time, maximize marketing budgets, retain players, and learn from analogs in other industries," explains conference organizer Christine Kenney. Panel topics include "The Changing Face of Social Games," "Hollywood", "Non-Traditional Marketing Strategies for the Games Industry", "How to Build and Finance a Gaming Startup" and more. BioWare Austin studio co-director Gordon Walton will keynote the event, while 38 Studios founder and former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling will discuss access to talent, capital, and regulatory support for new studios in the state of Massachusetts. Interested parties can find further information on the event at its official website.
