Engine maker Trinigy has signed a new licensee for its Vision Engine and re-upped with another one. The company announced today that it has signed a multiplatform deal with publisher Mindscape, while existing customer Firefly Studios will use Vision Engine on an upcoming title.
Mindscape's Punchers Impact studio will use Vision Engine to develop an upcoming action/fighting title for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. The studio
was established with a focus on downloadable games in the second half of 2009, and according to the publisher, is comprised of developers from Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, A2M and Free Radical Design.
Firefly Studios, best known for its medieval
Stronghold franchise, will use Vision Engine to develop an upcoming real-time strategy title, after working with it on prior projects.
"We decided on the Vision Engine because of its high performance cross-platform graphics abilities and its flexible engine architecture,” says Punchers Impact studio director and executive producer Guillaume Descamps.
Trinigy
recently unveiled the latest version of Vision Engine, version 8, which added support for browser-based games, among numerous new features and enhancements. Altogether the company says it has around 125 licensees for its product to date.
