Officials from Midway have reportedly begun a lawsuit against Sony Ericsson, over claims that the mobile giant has been distributing versions of Williams classic Defender on mobile phones without the publisher’s permission. Midway owns all the copyrights for Bally and Williams coin-ops, of which Defender is one of the most revered, and as a result the games publisher is filing for damages caused to its business and property and has also asked for Sony Ericsson to hand in all offending mobile phones and software in its possession.
