Publisher and developer Midway games has launched two digital storefronts, the Midway Online Store, which is for purchasing and downloading recently released games, and MidwayArcade.com, which offers casual titles and classic arcade games.
The Midway Online Store, which is accessible from the company site, currently offers ten downloadable PC games from Midway’s recent catalog, with prices ranging from $9.99 to $29.99. The available titles include
Stranglehold, Blacksite: Area 51, and
Unreal Tournament 3.
MidwayArcade.com pulls 14 titles from the publisher’s library of arcade classics, such as
Defender, Gauntlet 2, and
Spy Hunter. Customers can buy the arcade titles through bundles varying from 3 games ($5) to all 14 ($15).
MidwayArcade.com also includes games taken from Midway’s Touchmaster collection, such as
3 Peak Deluxe, Solitaire, and
Powercell. The casual titles are available for $5 each. Players will be able to post their high scores from both the casual and arcade games onto the site.
Both online storefronts were built by e-commerce solutions provider Digital River, which is managing the online sale and download of the Midway games.
Said Midway Home Entertainment vice president of marketing Mona Hamilton: “The Midway brand has a long and rich history of fast-paced and addictive games from our arcade and touchscreen heritage. The new digital storefront at midway.com and the casual games site at midwayarcade.com allow us to deliver these classics, favorites and recent releases directly to a wide-range of Midway fans.”
