Microsoft's Henson Takes Position As Rare's Studio Boss

Microsoft executive Scott Henson, who played a key part in the hardware and software development of Xbox, Xbox Live, Xbox 360 and Kinect takes up new role as UK developer Rare's studio manager.
Microsoft executive Scott Henson has assumed the role of studio manager of Microsoft-owned UK developer Rare. Henson, who starts work at the Viva Pinata developer immediately, played a key part in the hardware and software development of Xbox, Xbox Live, Xbox 360 and Kinect over his 16 years with Microsoft. Speaking to UK trade magazine MCV, Henson said: “The reason I’m so excited is that both Rare and I has a great history of innovation and creating experiences that are breakthrough experiences that reach millions of people." “The timing is actually perfect," he continued. "I’ve worked on Xbox since before the original Xbox. I helped bring Xbox Live to life, which has reached millions of people. Rare over the last 25 years is the same story." "It’s all those things coming together at a time when Kinect is about to launch with an excellent launch title in Kinect Sports which is poised to do very, very well," he added. "I think the combination is extremely powerful.”
