In the wake of Jeff Bell's resignation as VP of marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business of its Entertainment and Devices division, Microsoft has announced the appointment of Michael Delman, who currently works as corporate vice president of the global marketing communications group for the company.
Delman will begin his new role as corporate vice president of global marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business, which oversees Xbox and Games for Windows platforms and brands at Microsoft. Delman will report to Don Mattrick, who retains his role as senior vice president of IEB.
Delman recently managed the company's $1 billion worth of marketing spends with its advertising agencies. He also worked as director of marketing for Microsoft Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
This shuffle comes after Shane Kim was promoted to a new role at the company, as VP of interactive business development. Jeff Bell, Delman's predecessor,
announced his exit from the company for opportunities in "new industries and categories" at the time.
"I couldn’t imagine a more exciting time to be joining the IEB team - we’re on the cusp of revolutionizing the gaming industry, and changing how people interact with their television and connect with others," Delman said. "I look forward to applying my experience in global marketing to extend the reach of our products and propel the business into the next phase of growth."
