Microsoft Delays North American Xbox Launch By 1 Week

Microsoft says it will delay the launch of the Xbox by a week, to November 15, but did not specify a reason for the delay.
The company hedged when asked how many units would be available for the launch of the console, but said it still plans to ship 1-1.5 million consoles to North American retailers this holiday season. The company initially estimated that 600,000-800,000 units would be ready for the Xbox launch, but a number of analysts feel that the number will be less than 600,000. In an interview with Reuters, Microsoft's chief Xbox officer, Robbie Bach, said that the company made the decision "after going through a review -- obviously doing a lot of reviewing this past week -- of our integrated systems for launch."
