Microsoft has announced that it will be adding Ubisoft's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Sierra's Metal Arms - Glitch in the Machine to its Xbox Originals program, allowing full original Xbox titles to be downloaded and played on the Xbox 360. Originally released in March of 2005, Chaos Theory brought co-operative stealth play to the Splinter Cell franchise, and expanded on Pandora Tomorrow's "spies versus mercenaries" multiplayer mode. Gamasutra featured a three part in-depth look at the design of the two titles' multiplayer modes, by consultant Pascal Luban (part one, part two, part three). Critically lauded but commercially underwhelming action title Metal Arms was first released by Sierra in November of 2003, and developed by Swingin' Ape Studios. Originally founded in 2000 by ex-Midway employees, the studio would go on to assume development of StarCraft: Ghost before being outright acquired by Blizzard in 2005. That title, however, was eventually put on indefinite hold. Both titles will be added to the Xbox Originals service on April 21st, where they will join recent additions Dreamfall, Pirates!, Psychonauts and Black, and will be available the standard cost of 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).
