Microsoft: 1.5 Million Xbox Units Sold Through End Of 2001

In an announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show, Microsoft announced that it sold 1.5 million Xbox units in North America between the November 15 launch and the end of the year.
Microsoft also said that based on NPD research, gamers bought more than three games with every Xbox system -- reportedly the highest-ever game attach rate for a console launch. At CES, Microsoft showed the upcoming Xbox game titles Jet Set Radio Future from Sega, RalliSport Challenge and NBA Inside Drive 2002 from Microsoft Game Studios, WRECKLESS: The Yakuza Missions from Activision, and WWF Raw from THQ. The Xbox is schedule to launch in Japan on February 22, and in Europe and Australia on March 14.
