Officials from mobile publisher MFORMA have announced the establishment of MFORMA China. This new subsidiary is based in Shanghai and is fully licensed and authorized by the Chinese government to do business in China. The company will distribute mobile games and services directly to wireless operators throughout the country. In addition to Shanghai, the company has also opened offices in Beijing to facilitate the growth of content distribution across China. China has nearly 300 million wireless subscribers, a figure which is projected to grow to half billion by 2008 - making it the largest and fastest growing wireless market in the world. MFORMA has been working in China for nearly a year and already provides content to mobile operators through partnerships with several of the country’s existing content service providers. From now on though, the new subsidiary will provide operators with content directly and will continue to translate and source more titles for the Chinese market. Source: Business Wire
