Officials from mobile publisher Mforma have announced the singing of a licensing agreement with Marvel Enterprises, that will allow the company to use all Marvel comic book characters (except
The Punisher, which, interestingly, is licensed exclusively to THQ) in a variety of mobile games and utilities.
The deal covers all international territories, except Japan and will see Mforma co-publishing selected titles with Activision – who have the license to create home console titles featuring Marvel characters, and have recently released Marvel-licensed games including
Spider-Man 2 and
X-Men Legends, with games such as
Fantastic Four forthcoming.
Daniel Kranzler, Mforma CEO, commented: "We are pleased beyond words to be working with Marvel and Activision on this fantastic and perfectly-timed opportunity to catapult mobile entertainment to mainstream status all over the world."
Mforma, who also have licenses for properties from
The Italian Job to
The Elder Scrolls series, will also be using its network of more than 100 wireless operators in thirty-nine countries to create and host Marvel Mobile – branded wireless and online website featuring information, promotional and shop links to all Marvel Mobile content.
