Interactive Imaging Systems (IIS) announced it is releasing its MAXimum3D software plug-in for 3ds max and 3D Studio Viz. MAXimum3D is a real-time rendering tool for 3ds max, which allows users to launch full screen and interactive views of their models. MAXimum3D now allows users to add and interact with animations breaking 3D Studio Max's Linear Animation Loop. A drop down menu allows users to control and keep track of the animations that have been added. Add 3D sounds can be added to models, and descriptions can be inserted. For example if you were in a 3d house, as you approached pieces of the architecture, descriptions could be triggered as you near the objects, all in 3D. A new Portal feature allows users to jump to other Max files from the primary model. In addition to improving frame rate and realism it will allow multiple developers to work on the same project, allowing never-ending world sizes to be created. Creations can be exported as an independent file that will run without having 3D Studio Max on the machine that executes the file. The software, which comes bundled with the Company's VFX3D Head Mounted Display, will allow max models to be viewed in stereoscopic 3D. Head Motion tracking built into the VFX3D, allows users to see where they look. The software will be sold directly through IIS and through select Autodesk and Discreet sales channels.
