Indie game development company Max Gaming Technologies (
Lore Invasion, Kachinko) has unveiled an early prototype of its first MMO,
Dark Horizons Universe, available through the Multiverse Network's
recently-announced "Worlds in Progress" initiative.
DHU was announced as the "featured MMO" on Multiverse's version 1.0, and the developers recently provided a bit more info:
"When fully completed, DHU will be a "science-fiction style game where they will compete against one another through a fast-action combat system. Set against the backdrop of a futuristic Mars colony, DHU will also include a player-driven economy, a political system and a learning-based skill system."
In addition its Worlds in Progress debut, Max Gaming plans to demo DHU at the upcoming Austin Game Developers Conference (Sept. 5-7), giving attendees the opportunity to compete in player arena-style events.
