Publisher Mastiff (Gurumin) has revealed that its previously announced licensed Major League Eating: The Game will be released on the Wii as a downloadable WiiWare title featuring online play and leaderboards. The publisher says the one to two player title will play "like a fighting game," requiring players to "to master a smorgasbord of offensive and defensive weapons including bites, burps, belches, mustard gas and jalapeño flames while cramming and chewing food at a world-class pace." The game will use the Wii Remote to "simulate a variety of eating techniques including the cram, toss, and 'typewriter.' Burp-offs and Hot Potato challenges during the contests keep the competition intense and eaters on their toes." While Mastiff has remained relatively quiet since the release of PSP action RPG Gurumin, the publisher announced an agreement with Renegade Kid, developer of the GameCock published DS survival horror Dementium: The Ward, to publish their next DS game, given the working title of "Project M" and utilizing Renegade Kid's 3D engine. Said Mastiff 'head woof' Bill Swartz, "Watching Major League Eating is like watching poetry in motion. Professional gurgitators have the grace of ballerinas yet the brute strength, mental focus, and intestinal fortitude to push their bodies and minds as hard as athletes in any other extreme endurance sport. Victory is sweet and defeat can be well, really, really messy. It's an experience we're proud to help bring into the home."
