The organizers of the Lyon Game Developers Conference (GDC) have announced its second keynote: 'Rayman and the Raving Rabbids: How to Build a Game Delivering a Mix of Social Fun and Absurd Humor.'
In this Tuesday, December 4 keynote, Nicolas Normandon, Creative Director, Ubisoft, and Loïc Gounon, Ubisoft's International Product Manager on the project, will explain how humor and creative work helped to establish the
Raving Rabbids franchise.
This is the second keynote to be announced for Lyon GDC, after
Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, who is discussing the company's game
Crysis.
Lyon GDC will take place December 3-4 at the Centre de Congrès in Lyon. All sessions (50 +) will be presented either in French or English and translated into the other language.
The conference will also feature 15 research sessions and many master classes, including one lead by Victor Antonov, Art Director for
Half-Life 2, about how to use the visual environment to tell a story. This Master class is organized with the support of Citia.
Newly announced sessions also include:
- Shared Design: Through the Lens of Design and Production by Arnab Basu, Associate Producer, and Riley Cooper, Lead Designer, Crystal Dynamics
- Scrumming the Big Teams by Stephane Baudet, Managing Director, Ubisoft Annecy
- One License Multi-Unique Platforms by David Ortiz, Senior Producer, EA Sports
- Securing a Console Development Project by Jeff Hilbert, Founder, DDM and Joel Benton, Business Development, Kuju.
- Marketing your Development Studio, by Ian Baverstock, CEO, Kuju
- Applying New Business Models to your Game Design, by Thomas Bidaux, Director of Product Development, NCsoft Europe
Lyon GDC is presented by Connection Events and the Game Developers Conference (part of the CMP Game Group, as is Gamasutra), and supported by Perforce, Intel, ruCap, Illuminate Labs, and the French agencies Imaginove and CapDigital.
