San Mateo-based Luxology LLC has announced the shipment of
Modo, a subdivision surface and polygonal modeling platform for Mac OS X and Windows platforms.
The newly available software includes a real-time sub-division surface modeling engine with what Luxology describes as 'a user-centric, highly customizable interface that includes hundreds of production-oriented tools.'
Luxology itself is an independent technology group consisting of many of the most notable brains in the field of 3D animation and special FX. It was founded by Allen Hastings, Stuart Ferguson and Brad Peebler, all notable figures in the development or management of the seminal
Lightwave 3D graphics tool.
