Officials from LucasArts have will not be announcing any major new titles at this year’s E3 event, though a company representative has told Gamasutra it will be in attendance, despite the publisher and developer’s decision not to renew its membership with expo organizers the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). Speaking to website Venture Beat, director of public relations Margaret Grohne claimed that the decision had been made because of “too much noise surrounding the show”. However, the company has revealed the names of previously hinted at new titles based on the forthcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars computer animated movie and television show. Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Jedi Alliance on Nintendo DS will be the first title to be developed at LucasFilm Animation Studio in Singapore. Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for the Wii will be developer by Australian Viva Piñata: Party Animals developer Krome Studios. Although a Wii exclusive it is unclear whether the title is the long rumoured lightsaber game discussed, but never confirmed, ever since the Wii’s first unveiling. Grohne refused to confirm any of the recent rumors of sequels to popular properties such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, following supposed leaks from disgruntled employees laid off in a recent downsizing of internal staff. She did however claim that the layoffs, reported to include as many as 100 employees, will not impact any game development.
