Officials from Dutch publisher Playlogic have announced details of the company’s second quarter financial results, showing sales up 175 percent to $1.1 million despite only seeing the PSP's Xyanide Resurrection and PC's Evil Days of Luckless John released in the quarter. For its full first fiscal half year, sales were up 48 percent to $4.6 million over last year, primarily driven by sales of Infernal and Ancient Wars: Sparta for the PC through a distribution agreement with Eidos and FX Interactive. Still, the company saw half year losses of $0.46 million, though the amount was a significant decrease over last year's $3.9 million losses. With four games expected to be released in the third and fourth quarters, including Xyanide Resurrection for PS2 and Obscure II for PC, PS2 and Wii as well as continued catalog sales, the company says that the second half of the year will see significant increases in sales and will turn its losses to profits starting in the third quarter. Said Playlogic executive VP Rogier W. Smit, "With our current and upcoming portfolio of games, we have managed to secure our strongest distribution deals to date. Our strategy of controlling corporate overhead and focusing on continuously improving the quality of our titles are starting to bear fruit. The diversification of our products on new platforms and having secured strong licenses like the Dragon Hunters animated series have given us a healthy perspective for continued future growth."
