According to new sales data soccer simulations
FIFA 2004 and
PES3 sit immobile at the top of the UK sales charts and are unlikely to be moved by any but the largest Christmas releases. Certainly
SSX 3, the highest new entry at number three, has proved incapable of the task – even if its strong performance is yet another success for EA.
Elsewhere in the chart
F-Zero GX, Nintendo’s second biggest Christmas release, has entered at only number nine. However, considering the small user base of the GameCube in the UK and the stiff competition at this time of year it’s actually difficult to judge exactly how much of failure or success the game has been.
In terms of hardware sales the GameCube’s brief victory over the Xbox in the UK shows no sign of returning with Xbox sales up 65% this week, leaving the GameCube to be out sold by a factor of 2 to 1 by the Microsoft machine.
