The aftermath of the Christmas sales in the UK still show an almost total dominance by Electronic Arts, with five games in the top six. Predictably, considering there have been no prominent releases in the Christmas week, the charts have remained relatively static – although
Need for Speed has swapped places with
Rising Sun at the very top.
There is also evidence of more discerning games buyers using gift money in the post-Christmas period as the critically acclaimed
Prince of Persia and
Max Payne 2 make a belated rise into the top ten.
