The inability of UK publishers to take advantage of the Easter holidays has been driven home again this week with Sonic Heroes returning to the number one slot, in the absence of any other new family friendly releases. Indeed there is not a single new release in the top ten this week, and barely any in the top forty, with heavily discounted older titles such as The Sims and The Cat in the Hat proving to be the only new entries.
Acclaim’s World Championship Rugby has performed well again though, suggesting that the company has the makings of new sports franchise. In fact the company came very close to being number one, with only 500 units of sales separating the top three titles.
