Following a price drop from ¥16,800 ($154) to ¥14,800 ($135) the Xbox has seen its weekly market share rise from less than 1% to 6.98%. Helped also by the creation of a ¥19,800 ($181) bundle including the console, an extra controller,
Halo,
Project Gotham Racing 2, a DVD kit and two months free subscription to Xbox Live this is the best week of sales the Xbox has ever achieved.
The console did not take its extra market share from any one particular rival though, with the rest of the market remaining relatively unchanged with the PlayStation 2 at the top with 49.67%, combined GBA sales at 24.49%, GameCube at 18.21%, PS one at 0.36% and Bandai’s SwanCrystal at 0.29%.
