The Japanese games market has suffered its worst week of software sales all year, with unit sales dropping below 400,000 for the first time and representing only 38.52% of the weekly average.
As a result the greatest amount of movement in the sales top ten was the rise back up the charts of older releases. The only new entries are party game
Dokapon DX and the sequel to
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.
Hardware sales were slightly more buoyant than software sales with the PlayStation 2 regaining the lead with a 47.32% market share, followed by Game Boy Advance at 43.23%, GameCube at 8.31% and Xbox at 0.54%.
