The Japanese sales top ten, which is usually driven entirely by new releases, continues to behave erratically in the aftermath of the country’s main holiday period.
In particular the demo version of
Gran Turismo 4 continues to perform astonishingly well - giving only a hint of the huge sales that must now be expected from the full release.
Nintendo have continued to perform well in terms of software sales but the GameCube has seen a significant dip in hardware sales this week at 17.65%, from 23.77% last week. The PlayStation 2 regained the top spot with a 41.74% market share, with combined Game Boy Advance sales at 38.96%, Xbox at 0.93% and PS one at 0.49%.
