Korea based developer Bluehole has announced that it is the latest to license Epic's Unreal Engine 3 to create a next-gen massively multiplayer online PC role-playing game, currently codenamed Project S1. The announcement follows recent news that MMO developer and publisher NCsoft (City of Heroes, Lineage series) would be using the engine for “two unannounced, top-tier massively multiplayer online games.” 38 Studios also recently announced its intentions to use the engine to power its own forthcoming MMO project. “At Bluehole Studio, we are striving to advance the MMORPG industry by leveraging high quality graphics. Thus, we are very pleased to collaborate with Epic, because Unreal Engine 3 is the best choice for our development framework,” said Yong-hyun Park, chief technical officer of Bluehole.
