Unite 2010, the annual developer conference
held by Unity Technologies for the users of its popular Unity game engine/development tool, has announced that Schell Games CEO Jesse Schell will be delivering a keynote at this year's event.
This is the fourth year for the Unite user conference, which attracted 350 attendees in 2009 and doubled attendance from its previous year. The event will be held in Old Montreal at the historic Marche Bonsecours, and will welcome developers between November 10th and 12th.
Schell spent seven years as Creative Director of the Disney Virtual Reality Studio before founding Schell Studios in 2002. He has also taught game design at Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center, and received
significant industry notice for his recent talks on the 'gameification' of life.
His studio, Schell Games is currently using Unity to develop the MMOG (massively multiplayer online game)
The Mummy Online, which is a collaboration between Universal and Bigpoint and is slated for a Winter 2010 release.
David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies, says of keynote speaker Schell, “Jesse is perhaps the most inspiring speaker in the games industry. He combines real vision with incredibly thorough analysis of where we are and where we are all going."
