Namco Bandai's PlayStation Portable adventure game
God Eater topped the weekly Japanese sales charts for the week ended February 7, bumping down last week's leader,
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie, to number two.
Media-Create reported Friday that Namco Bandai's PSP adventure game
God Eater sold 295,000 units for the week, debuting at number one. The game supports local four-player co-op, and is developed by
Ape Escape Academy developer Shift.
God Eater topped last week's number one, Square Enix's
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie, a Nintendo DS remake of the 1995 Super Famicom original. This week,
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie sold 190,000 units, down from the phenomenal 906,000 units sold a week ago.
Aside from
God Eater, two other new games broke into the top ten this week: Square Enix's PlayStation 3 game
Star Ocean: The Last Hope -- International and the PSP game
Pop'n Music Portable from
Dance Dance Revolution Konami.
Dropping out of the top 10 from last week were Namco's
Ar tonelico III: Sekai Shuuen no Hikigane wa Shoujo no Uta ga Hajiku for PS3, Sega's
Resonance of Fate for Xbox 360 and
Valkyria Chronicles 2 for PSP, and Sony's
MAG for PS3.
