The Japanese sales charts have rallied only slightly from their post-summer torpor, this week, with a number of new releases, but sales still only 50.44% of the weekly average. Although it has entered at number one, Capcom’s Biohazard: Outbreak - File #2 (the latest online version of the Resident Evil series) has sold only around 91,000 copies. This compares poorly to the first version of Outbreak, which sold around 227,000 units in the same period. Elsewhere in the chart, no other game sold more than 30,000 units, with Sega’s violent action title Dororo (aka Blood will Tell) showing disappointing sales, and the PlayStation 2 release of Viewtiful Joe still failing to find the commercial reward which most critics have insist it deserves. In hardware sales, the PlayStation 2 has at long last reclaimed its leadership, with a 52.12 percent market share, compared to 38.99 percent for the Game Boy Advance, 7.94 percent for the GameCube and a not marvellous 0.76 percent for the Xbox.
