A specific list of retro launch window titles for Nintendo's Wii Virtual Console download service in the Japanese territory has been revealed, including a number of titles unavailable in other parts of the world. According to news translated by outlets including consumer game site 1UP, whereas the virtual console games in the West are primarily first party titles, with the exception of Tecmo's NES puzzler Solomon's Key, the Japanese launch will see a healthier selection of third party games immediately being made available on the Nintendo formats. The list of games is identical to those already scheduled for release in North America, with the following additions: NES: Gomoku Narabe (Nintendo), Gradius (Konami), The Legend of Kage (Taito), Ninja Jajamaru Kun (Jaleco) and Xevious (Namco). SNES: Contra III (Konami), Donkey Kong Country (Nintendo), Fire Emblem: Monsho no Nazo (Nintendo), The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (Nintendo), R-Type III (Irem), Street Fighter II (Capcom), Super Castlevania IV (Konami), Super Mario Picross (Nintendo), Super Mario World (Nintendo) Mega Drive (aka Genesis): Shadow Dancer (Sega) PC Engine (aka TurboGrafx-16): Adventure Island (Hudson), Bomberman ’94 (Hudson), Joshoken Necromancer (Hudson) The pricing for the virtual console titles is also slightly different in the East, with Mega Drive (aka Genesis) titles priced at 600 Wii points, rather than 800.
