It's been a downhill ride for Interplay's stock this year: it was demoted from the Nasdaq market to the Nasdaq SmallCap Market just last May after failing to meet the big board's listing requirements. Now that it is being delisted from SmallCap, it's next stop is the NASD-operated Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board where "penny stocks" are traded. Interplay shares lost 3 cents -- 37% of their value -- on the news, and currently trade a 5 cents.
The company has until October 23, 2002 to request a review of the decision by the Nasdaq Listing and Hearing Review Council. The company is considering whether to seek a review.
