The makers of the controversial Phantom console have brought a cease-and-desist order against hardware site [H]ard|OCP, which published a damming investigation
into the company and their employees. Infinium Labs is threatening further legal action if the site does not take down the article within ten days.
The article revealed CEO Tim Robert’s chequered business past and showed that the company’s business address was in fact a post office box. The site was careful to back up most its allegations, but Infinium Labs nevertheless describes the article as “false and defamatory”.
[H]ard|OCP is sticking by its guns and has invited Infinium Labs to correct any factual errors in the article. As site editor Kyle Bennett puts it, “It is my opinion that Infinium Labs' only interest is stifling HardOCP.com and our opinions. HardOCP.com still stands by our thoughts and opinions put forth in our editorial and no amount of legal badgering and frivolous lawsuits will change those opinions that we have shared with our readers.”
