British industry veteran Tim Christian has acquired a majority shareholding in Scottish developer Visual Science. Christian was previously MD of MicroProse and Hasbro Interactive, and most recently has enjoyed a two year spell as non-executive chairman at Visual Science itself. Founder Russell Kay will now take on the role of CTO.
“I’m delighted that Tim accepted the offer to invest in the company and to join us as CEO,” commented Kay. “We now boast a highly regarded and very hands-on industry veteran to complement the existing management team."
The company is most famous for developing the a series of
Formula 1 racing games for Electronic Arts, and is currently embarked on two new, unannounced projects.
“The investment underlines my belief in the future of Visual Science,” said Christian. “The current management team will continue in their present roles and it really is business as usual. I’m looking forward to working closely with Russell who can now concentrate firmly on the company’s tools, technologies and overall game development.”
